No cruise control or engine brake on 2012 Freightliner Cascadia since I bought it with original calibration till this moment with the mandate removed. I thought it may be the brake switch, then I thought it is the steer clock spring I tested the buttons with DDL software signal is good the light comes on when the cruise button is pushed, but it doesn't set up, no PTO also the engine brake will not activate. Does someone know how to diagnose for proper communication between OEM control module and the engine ECM ? If there is a specialist I would come to his place, let me know please $
Have you checked the clutch switch?
You don't mention eliminating this.
There is a switch that shuts c/c & Jake brake off when the clutch pedal is pressed.
Insite will show its status?

Open Insite->Data Monitor/Logger->Switches...
This is the screen shot. Red line is Brake Switch, Yellow line is Clutch Switch

If someone flashes the ECM 2 times in a row with cummins insite, the engine will loose its cruise control and engine brake every time, factory programming or otherwise. I have seen this a hundred times. That could be all that your problem is. if so, someone only needs to put back the proper J1939 addresses for that make and model truck and it will work again. that is where I would start to look. It is pretty simple if you know what the settings are.

I have helped quite a few people with this and so has Mr. Hag. Maybe stop by his shop sometime and have him make sure the addresses are right.
Driving w/o cruise would suck, been many years since i've done that. I have a '12 cascadia and that software that isn't insite, if you know what to compare.

By the way I forgot to mention that's an autoshift - no clutch pedal

This makes sense, Thanks!

We don't use cruise. it sucks up way too much fuel for us. A good driver with a boost and pyro gauge set in the truck can beat the pants off of cruise control.
It maybe programmed with clutch switch so id check it either way.
So I called Mr. Hag last week, he was busy... then I asked Rawze to take a look at my cc and engine brake. Man you're freakin genius :big_smile2: , how you fixed it I don't know as I understood it was a bad address somewhere in the programming code related to brake pedal and cruise control set button, but it works! My wife is so happy now, thanks a lot!!!
