I just got a 2013 KW T660 isx15 cm2250 with approx 500k Miles. When idling seems the turbo is always on? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can't help you with your turbo question but I can tell you to either rebuild or buy a new fuel pump for that engine very very soon if you don't know the history of it!! That's about $25,000 worth of advice :big_smile2:

yep, tree98 is right, I have a 2013 cm2250 that I am currently disassembling and flushing and hoping its salvageable ... only 200,000 miles ... ate the ceramic dumb*ss plungers!!!!
The newer Cummins always have some boost pressure at idle.

Make sure you inspect and or update/rebuild the fuel pump. They like to grenade at the worst moments. And when they do, you may just find yourself with a boat anchor.

thanks so much for this info. Truck has had the fuel pump fixed on it already.Rawze thanks for the read. Thats a great post. I don't believe I have the chuff sound .. just the turbo seems to be always engaged on idle. Like I said earlier I know when it comes to the hands on side of things I'm a little weak. Until recently I've always just been a company driver. I'll soon be doing the egr tune up (thanks to the vids on youtube )I love the work you've put into this site and the youtube videos that says a lot. Thanks a bunch for your attention its greatly appreciated .. Im sure to be around reading and posting since I've got more work to do but I'll be posting in the appropriate threads for that... thanks again Cheers!

History is pretty limited really I had oil samples taken for motor and trans. and motor come back as really clean but some copper in trans with a possible cause suggesting clutch. I also seen about 100k back there was def cleaning but again the records I got were limited and they were from a Kenworth dealership.I will be contacting cummins to see if they can give me more history on this unit.
