Cool technique but the linemans splice is mostly suitable for single core wire.

that is how I was taught to solder correctly back in high school shop class. - too bad there is no education left in america these days eh?

No shop class in high school in Cobb County where I grew up in Georgia. I suppose they dont want kids getting hurt. But your in school so they should teach you safety right. Would have been my favorite class if they had it.

When I was in high school, I took Television repair, Electronics, Wood-shop, computer programming, advanced algebra, Lock-picking, music classes, and every other vocational thing they had to offer that i could join. I missed out on welding, as they were at same time as the other courses, but I hung out in those classes after school a lot.

Back then, "SUE" was the name of a person, not a verb. A kid got hurt, they choked it up to stupidity, as it should be.

I don't know why, but todays society is now hell bent of regulating and controlling stupidity instead of actually educating people that some things can be dangerous if not respected. - Sad if you ask me.

They all claim these days that the toys I grew up with like Tonka-Toys made from real metal, the "big-wheel", chemestry sets, and all the other things a kid can have actual fun with as "harmful" and oh-my-god,.. would not want to learn to respect things for what they are,.. instead, they encourage kids these days to play with a toy that will ... Destroy your sense of one's self, Give you all the pornography you ever desired so that you can't get it up when on a real date, are controlled by corporate sponsoring, degrades your ability to speak proper English, causes neck problems from starring down all the time, causes eye problems from starring closely at it for 15 hours a day, and makes you so addicted to it that they literally have severe withdraw symptoms if you take it away. --- When you see that 5 year old with that "F#$#KIN SMART-PHONE" in their hand. -- I suppose that is less harmful to our children and young adults? --- WHO HE HELL DO THEY THING THEY ARE KIDDING!?!


Schools in America now are nothing but a complete joke where all they want from you is to memorize the answers to tests, look s#it up on google and become part of the brainwashed social media machine. The whole thing is designed singularly around corporate sponsored brain-washed consumerism and making the school look good and keeping the children in a bubble of ignorance. - Has nothing to do with actual education.

You are absolutely right Mr. Rawze. My high school had what was called a skill center. They offered, auto mechanic, auto body, machine shop. drafting, computer, welding, and a building trades, where we actually built a 3 bedroom home. Sadly to say, IT'S ALL GONE!!!!

Computers, man I remember 2014, that's when I got a smart phone for the first time. Before that I got around well for what I did and didn't have any issues. Now it is more complicated. Just have to have the proper balance in it. Limit yourself. Not easy for me I'll say. It kinda keeps people locked away from the real world.

Got to get out of that sleeper from time to time to enjoy yourself. Keep yourself happy so
your not going crazy. Go to a bar or something, whatever you like, but some time away is good to not get burned out on the road I would say.

Issue I ran into in soldering is I had to touch the soldering iron with the solder for it to melt onto the wire. It wouldn't get hot enough to touch the solder on the wire. Not hot enough I suppose but good video.
