05-23-2016,
I'm about to trade in my 2013 Western Star wth a 560 hp DD15 on a new Cascadia. It has been hauling super B-train hopper bottom on the Canadian prairies. I just printed out DDEC Reports and looked at the regen history since January 2013 is as follows:
DPF Regeneration:
Parked Completed 8 ; burned 15.24 gallons of diesel
Driving Completed 92; burned 310.81 gallons of diesel
Diesel Exhaust Fluid:
Total consumed 2,183.49 gal
Percent 2.79% compared to diesel
MPG DEF 152.45 mpg
I thought that wasn't too bad of a history. But cost wise that equals about $1,300 for diesel and $6,200 for DEF plus $2,800 back in June when I did the DPF filters for a total cost of $10,300 over 332,000 miles or 3.1 cents per mile.
