So checked for play and it’s right and no metal flakes. So the question is how would the turbo act if the veins were clogged with soot? Would it be boosting/spooling a lot? Louder whine to it?

they would stick
Usally closed and the engine wouldn't run or even crank
Kind of rare I have seen maybe 3-4 trucks do it in the last 7 years
The way your truck in running in the video you sent me its going to be something simple
I just cant safely say what unless I can get eyes on some data from it
Could be as simple as an ecm update
