Cummins has not actually called this a recall yet but if you have any of the injectors listed, they will replace them.
Also, I was told if a failure happens and it destroys the engine, it is covered under progressive damage.
So far I have replaced 3 on 2 trucks and 1 on my own.
Hope it helps.

Damn mines are on that list, so how this work do I have to take the ones that are bad and take em to the cummins dealer or do they do all the work?? Thanks for the info
Damn mine on this reman of mine are on there... The 00 before the PX doesn't show up in quickserve but I'm assuming they leave that out intentionally in place of the hyphen.
4954434-PX.... This may explain my smoke issue I guess
They told me if they didnt install, they won't cover labor.
I been buying injectors from a local KW dealer and didn't have any trouble returning bad ones.
WOW!

Thanks for posting this! -- it will help a lot of people!.
I checked with my dealer doing my in frame, they just installed a six pack of new injectors... I got lucky! Good stuff to see here too! My International dealer, also a Cummins shop, knew nothing about this. And here is the kicker, the Cummins rep was just in there!
It's amazing how quiet they are about this. The info I got was intended for in house only.
The K.W dealer I work with also knew nothing about this.
The rest of the pages below will show how to identify the date codes on the box. From what I gather, you can have the same part number but different date codes.
You can verify the date code on the injector itself but it's located on the part above the O ring that goes into the head.

Dang, thanks for the heads up.

So I'm buying a 2010 with a CM871 525hp. The info either seems to be vague or affect a ridiculous amount of injectors. Rather than pulling them, does someone know or is there a way for me to find out if any of these part numbers were in service then?

You can sign up for free at cummins quickserve website with the engine serial number of the truck you buying and you should be able to find the injector part# there for that engine
