What is normal oil pressure and temperature for a cm570 signature 600? At 1500 RPM my pressure is 32-35 and oil temperature goes up to 235. Is that normal? Brand new engine.
Sounds ok to me.

Other than the oil temp on the high side, the pressure is about right. The oil temps shoule be around 218-225~ish-F.. and only hit 230-F or so when in a hard pull for a while.

Higher than normal oil temps can be a few things mechanically, but also can be programming that does not matching the engine properly.

thank you for the response. Is there damage being done if the oil temp is at 230-240?

That would depend on if someone has jacked with the programming .. or if a cam has slipped or was installed at the wrong angle... or if the injectors are not matching the build .. maybe a bearing in the bottom end that is not up to proper spec/clearances?... etc.

Unless that engine is being absolutely tortured in its operations, .. 240-F oil temps is not normal for an ISX. Only time I ever see the ISX's get that high oil temps is when someone has jacked with the programming or the other things I mentioned above. Are the coolant temps getting 230+ as well?

Is that thing in a motor-home or some other equipment where air flow is severely restricted?.. and the thing cannot breathe well?

was it rebuilt with all OEM parts?... or was the whole engine from cummins new?

If that oil temp is hitting 240+f then that is a serious concern. What is the boost levels doing and what are the EGT's when it gets that hot?.
Coolant stays right at 180 even when oil gets that hot. Its a brand new engine straight from cummins. Has never been opened. Program is what it came with from cummins. I'll have to get back to you on the EGT I dont remember.
it is in a 389 peterbilt. Boost goes to about 33

This is the engine.
