2016 Freightliner Cascadia - overshot - 10-30-2016
I'm looking at buying a new 2016 cascadia. It has a isx 450hp, 1850 torque 13 speed, 3.42 gears and low pro 22.5 tires. I'm not to familiar with Freightliners. So, I would like to find out if Freightliner has any common issues or flaws. Any comments, opions or advised will greatly appreciated.

I've never experienced any issues with the chassis of any cascadias I have driven. It's always the emission systems messing up.

Thanks Nilao, emmision issues will be taken care of I very short order. However, I would like to find some used dpf/scr to use instead of destroying the new ones. Even though I plan on keeping this new truck a long time.

Do a google search. You can usually find some from a wrecked truck for half the price of new.

Windshields are prone to leakage, SAM module failing is common.... Company I work for doesn't have much luck with steer tires. 60-80k miles and they are toast. We had some come in last year with a new location for your air dryer and what not and they all had to be relocated because they were getting blasted with cold air in the winter freezing everything up... Overall though a decent truck, not my cup of tea but can certainly make you money.

Thanks. Yeah I'm not into freightliners. But, it's 20-30000 dollars cheaper than a kw or pete.

Stop and think about resale value when you're done with it and total cost of ownership.
You can still get financing on a 2010 without DEF.

Thanks, but what I've been seeing there is no resale value in anything. Unless it's a w900 or 389. And look at waterloo's situation he bought that used truck and has pretty much had to rebuild the darn thing.
I also have a 2012 pete 386 that has had m,m'2 done. And I'm looking at having to spend more and more on it. And of course I know even a new truck can and will have issues to be repaired. This 2012, I'll get some things fixed and by God 2 more issues pop up.

I got my first 2016 Cascadia Evolution. it has 55,000 on it. so far so good. 6.3 mpg average. set at 80 on cruise, 82 on pedal. steer tires are over 50% probably closer to 75%. No cupping, or flatting on them... 12 spd auto set to economy btw... just my personal experience...
