2350 tuning - Baldmann81 - 02-09-2020 Hello all. I am new here and just wanting to get some advice. I have a isx15 cm2350 factory set at 500/1850, cpl4584. Can this be turned up at all safely? RE: 2350 tuning - Lonestar10 - 02-09-2020 Yes but if your not doing heavy haul the decreased engine life and mpg loss if always using that power will cost 1,000s to your bottom line. First to the top of hill are usually first to bankruptcy court. RE: 2350 tuning - Magard - 02-09-2020 Have you ever driven a truck with more power. If so you would quickly realize your just about at the point of diminishing returns. Tons of maintenance and fuel increased to gain very little. Custom tuning can do what ever. The industry isn’t good enough right now to support calamities. Adding power to pull a hill a little faster is just plain abuse. 550/1850 is basically the reasonable limit of power. I’ve ran more and it’s just not profitable. As far as cpl goes I’m not sure but custom tuning can do a lot regardless of cpl especially if demandated. RE: 2350 tuning - Baldmann81 - 02-09-2020 Thanks for the replies. Yes I am doing heavy haul both with a dump bucket and lowboy. I don't want to do anything to shorten the lifespan of the engine but I wondered if 550/1850 was possible to help when heavy running in the east TN hills.... RE: 2350 tuning - Baldmann81 - 02-09-2020 It has an rtlo18918b behind it so I dont think I should mess with the torque at all... RE: 2350 tuning - Baldmann81 - 02-09-2020 I am going to be making a trip in the very near future to one of the well respected guys on here to relieve it of some of its unnecessary features....lol RE: 2350 tuning - Magard - 02-09-2020 Actually raising hp and lowering torque would make the most sense. Like 1750 torque at 1650rpm is 550 hp. Or so. Change torque peak to like 1300rpm instead of 1100rpm. This will save maintenance and still pull really well and happily. Right now your making 1850 at 1400rpm to make 500 hp. I wouldn’t carry this torque level bellow 1300 rpm. My small cpl truck is fixen to get a tune something like this concept. Just got gauges on it so I can monitor egt. I’m still running the mandate. Some will argue that 1400rpm should be the lower limit of torque. RE: 2350 tuning - Baldmann81 - 02-09-2020 Ok. I really appreciate the help! RE: 2350 tuning - Magard - 02-09-2020 1850 torque from 1300rpm to 1600rpm with that 18spd. Will do nicely. Tapper torque off on the ends of that window. Get some gauges. I would look at legal custom tuning as a option also. Heavy haul will work the emissions system hard enough to keep it fairly happy. The depreciation cost of demandating a truck are awful high. People don’t look at that much. But demandateing a truck pretty much makes it to we’re no one in there right mind would buy it unless you convince some private guy that you did the delete properly. Loosing all the operating modes that a delete doesn’t have anymore can be a issue also. |
