That sounds near identical to mine when it failed, and I was in the middle of a five lane street in Pontiac MI... Hit the ECM with a hammer and got her almost a mile where she failed again, in a safe parking space. Installed new ECM from the house that I had on hand, no issues since.

Glad to hear it. KW up the road says 2k for a new one and then 2-4 hours to flash it to my specs at $155 an hour. I ordered it and they'll get it from cummins. I need to call my rep and see if she can help me out with the price a bit. I'll keep this updated.

Ok, so, after new ECM was installed a little over a week ago, there hasn't been any issues. Driver is super stoked, he loves the truck because its pre-dpf system so his exhaust brake is louder than the newer trucks. smh. Drivers.
