RE: Bad demandate - Oilysnowman - 04-10-2024 Does anyone know what I can do to clear up that oil? I was hoping that with new cams, and rockers it might. Plus my damper was off by one hole, so my valve adjustments will have been compromised? Or would that not make that big of a difference? If the engine is not de-mandated, then a bypass filter system to keep the soot at bay will help a lot. Oil will still turn black, it cannot be helped when the engine is eating its own farts.. but the soot should not be allowed to build up in there. If it is de-mandated, it should not be turning black for about 8 - 10k miles or so at a time. Unless you idle a lot, something is likely wrong otherwise. RE: Bad demandate - Oilysnowman - 04-24-2024 It is demandated. I just changed my cams and rockers, looked like my injector cam gear had slipped a little bit, hoping it was that. I’ve got a question about the oil pump shimming, I put six Canadian dimes in, it’s running about 46 psi now. I’m wondering does any one know at what pressure the oil bypass valve would open? I just had a thought, would the bypass valve open if the oil pressure is higher like this, leading to unfiltered oil?[/align] RE: Bad demandate - Rawze - 04-24-2024 (04-24-2024 )Oilysnowman Wrote: It is demandated. RE: Bad demandate - Oilysnowman - 10-26-2024 Thanks for the help so far! I’ve got the truck more or less running smooth, but I have some more headaches. I’m not too tech savvy, but I monitored Insite the other day while I was driving, and it kept putting the truck in high altitude derate. The turbo intake air temp sensor is showing a constant 118 degrees Fahrenheit. Calculated exhaust gas temp went up to 1600 degrees, but my physical pyro didn’t go over nine…I noticed on very hot days the truck performed a lot better. Also, when I try to do the injector check valve test on Insite it says it can’t do the test due to fuel pressure sensor out of range. Any ideas? Any ideas? have you had the de-mandate programming checked/reviewed?. RE: Bad demandate - Oilysnowman - 10-26-2024 No I haven’t. Running rough did the programming, but there were a couple bad programs in there before he did his work. Would any of that still be in there? Would any of that still be in there? RR usually does decent work.. however, remnants of old programming depends on how someone fixed the bad settings. If it was flashed completely back its factory programming and started over, then no .... but if the bad program was simply repaired,.. then maybe. someone can always copy the program out of their ecm and e-mail it to me for review if it is in question. RE: Bad demandate - Peashooter67 - 10-27-2024 The best way to be certain about your ecm software is to take your ecm to someplace that rebuilds ecm’s “ quick way time wise to get this done as any dealership I’ve been to will take a week just to get to your ecm to flash it”. Have them wipe/clear your ecm , then flash it with clean factory program right from cumins incal disk using your engine calibration. You can get or find your proper original engine calibration with proper cal.numbers on quickserve, then have our friend (RR in this case) in Canada help out with other necessities program wise. |
