It's possible that the ECM is bad and it not throw any codes.

Id like to add a detail to the ECM conversation, the ECM has 30,000 hours on it. I would say she is broken in by now.

Does anyone know if Milton Cat would have the equipment to test the ECM itself ? That would be relatively convenient.

maybe slap the ecm onto another vehicle of same make/model/engine?.

Also, with 30k hours on the ecm aside, ... how many years old is it?. If it is more than 8+ years old, a new one is not a bad investment if it is suspect.

I would say that it is well over 8 years old. The truck itself is a 1998-1999. We have had a few different people tell us that if the ECM had any issues it would throw codes. Which I think they could be correct as well in most cases. But I'm skeptical of the ECM with no evidence yet. Rocky hill can confirm the ECM age, we went up and picked the truck up used together.
