Now that makes total sense. This new fuel we have to suffer with is garbage. None of it even looks or even smells the same, one station it is green, another it is yellow, and yet another it is near clear. There seems to be no consistency to any of it, and then throw in the bio, ethanol and God only knows what else they put in there, WATER? You would have a better chance at finding out what is in the next autism causing vaccine than what we buy at the pump.

Do different stations carry different blends/chemical makes in any consistent measure? I have noticed lower mileage with some stations fuel as opposed to others...

Maybe adding some sort of lubricant like 2cycle oil to the fuel would help with pump longevity?? Of course I'm talking about demandated trucks in far away lands where that stuff is legal.

the amount of fuel to what oil would need to be added might be cheaper to just rebuild the pump every 200-300k miles

Right but pumps have failed well before the 400k mark. Maybe it's not worth it, just a thought.

if i was really worried about the pump ied just rebuild it yearly its only basically the price of an oil change and about 1-2hrs labor.

I read somewhere years ago the color of the diesel had to do with what stock the bio came from. Green was plant based bio, yellow was animal fat bio, and clear was no bio. But I can't say for sure.

For the trucks still running the mandate, adding any kind of oil to the fuel for lubricity would negatively affect the DOC, DPF, and SCR media......
Definitely cheaper to just rebuild the shi#t-pump every year.
