Isx15 metal shavings in fuel filter - Samvelm83 - Today Guys I'm confused. This is already 3rd PM when I get metal shavings in the main fuel filter (water separator - clean). Pulled fuel pump head: Plungers, cam, tappets are ok. No signs of wear. Also removed low pressure pump. Everything looks good. I do see shavings in the fuel tanks but why the water separator filter doesn't catch them which is the very first filter from tanks? What is located in between the main filter and water separator filter that can cause brass shavings? RE: Isx15 metal shavings in fuel filter - tree98 - Today Maybe your water separator is bypassing fuel for some reason. Filter cartridge has a hole in it, isn't sealing tight, wrong element, etc. RE: Isx15 metal shavings in fuel filter - Andre_The_Giant - Today Try a different fuel station for a interval. Also make sure your running the finest micron filter RE: Isx15 metal shavings in fuel filter - MPDiagnostics - Today Have you checked the shavings against a magnet? Just to be double sure it’s not steel. Between the water separator and the final fuel filter is the electric lift pump and the low pressure fuel pump. Gotta make sure these aren’t steel shavings |
