Good evening,
I have a 2013 Peterbilt 587 Cummins ISX with a ten speed.
The issue I am having is my truck is shutting off while I release the clutch. I does not do it every time but its been doing it a lot more lately. Last week I got a code 0559. Mechanic did test and found the fuel pump head was bad. replaced with a new one but the problem still persist. I will be checking all the wiring around the battery box to the ecm. Anything else I can physically look at. Right now it sputters then shut down. no codes at the moment and the truck will start back up just fine and take off down the road. thank you for your time and help. Truck has been dementated. I will be downloading a copy of my tune for review once I get home.

Did he check the guts and plungers to make sure they aren't sticking? Fuel rail pressure relief valve and sensor replaced? Has the pump actuator on it been replaced? Fuel pump regulator? How about the check valve under the electric lift pump? Davco check valve? 559 is usually a mechanical issue that the fuel system cannot hold pressure unless the fuel pressure sensor is reading invalid..

yes ... if it will not pass a leak-down test then that is the first place to start with it.
next is the de-mandate programming to ensue it is not killing the engine internally and now something has caught up with this fact. More then 90% of all de-mandate programming is harmful to the engine over time... some far worse than others.

I will update soon truck will be going back to shop today. Last night the check engine light came back on with the 559 code. Thank you for the help

Yes he did one plunger was sticking so he changed fuel pump head. But was not the complete problem

Ok sir the programming was done through the guy in griffin but it has been a few years. Once the truck comes home I’ll get a copy of the program and email it to you. Could you pm me your email? Thank you

Yes fuel pump head pressure relief valve and sensor and check valve in davco have been changed.
The head had a sticky plunger and check valve was full of crap… will check actuator and the other check valve next. Thank you
