i discovered the power steering pump weeping while diagnosing a no start or fuel system loosing prime , was about to mount a new p/s pump with new lift pump when noticed the air compressor bearing failed ,filings and metal in oil , so whats next ? around the farm truck creeping up to 1 mil kms

Replace it. A bad/failing compressor can very easily take out the engine..

well yes im replacing the compressor and will take off oil pan and clean but what else is neccesary

Someone just mentioned this post in another thread. Although it's mainly referring to fuel pump failure the same principle applies to flushing metal shavings out of the engine.
