Engine brake undefined - JakeFromStateFarm - 08-10-2026 Hey y'all, Long time reader, don't post much cause I ain't smart enough yet lol. Working on some engine brake issues when I noticed my engine brake was undefined in Insite. Saw the technical bulletin from Cummins on this specifically effecting my CM871. Is this the cause of my engine brake issues or just an inconvenience? I don't know how to calibrate without losing my not-today-epa tuning, 2010 Pete 386, CM871 RE: Engine brake undefined - APC - 08-10-2026 before modifying anything... can you monitor your Engine brake switches under data monitor/logger in insite? is the ECM picking up the signals from the switch while playing with it ? if so... the "undefined" setting is not the cause for your engine brake issues... RE: Engine brake undefined - Rawze - 08-11-2026 You also need to copy the program from the ecm and have it properly reviewed too, if it has not already been done. - 90%+ of all de-mandate programming is quite harmful to the engine and can cut engine life in half or less, even before any idiot changes the power levels. |
