OIL TEMP SENSOR - axe - 03-02-2017

Anyone tell me where oil temp sensor is on CM870. Cant find it on Quickserve. Thx

It's right beside the oil pressure sending unit on an 871, I'd assume it's the same on the 870 as they are the same block...(temp towards the front, press towards the rear)
I'm sure when I watched the YouTube video about the IFSM, that they mentioned it being the same on the 870 & 871, but that was a while ago.

Yes, there are two in the block close together. It is the rear one.

This is an 871 right off of Quickserve. If you have Quickserve, you can go:
Service->Manuals->Troubleshooting and repair manuals->Engine system and identification->Engine diagrams

Yes was looking at CM 870 and couldn't find it on the engine diagrams. Found it and replaced. Oil temp gauge was reading around 250 cruising, but oil pressure was around 38lbs. Talking with Gearhead and he suggested change sensor because oil may really not be that hot. Running around 220 now. Thanks everyone.
