That was before the teamsters unions (ehemm retired mob bosses)... and all the other organizations with their hands out got a hold of trucking.
That was also an era in time when people generally had some common sense, self pride, pride in others, care in what they do, and a general attitude for looking out for the next guy instead of their own selfish greed.
