Oil change time for new to me truck - Skman - 12-18-2017

I'm going to doing my first oil change since buying this truck (13 w900 with ISX de-leted).
I've read on here that the engine likes high zinc oil so I was going to use Rotella T4 and was thinking about adding some of this for an extra bump:

Good idea or no?
Thanks

You may find this posting enlightening. Read it and decide for yourself, but there seems to be no discernible downside to this approach. I went with Sta-Lube because NAPA can get it, and they're close to me.

As a side note- If you have any sort of oil leaking from the head, you will smell gear oil from time to time!

Not sure I would trust a "break-in" oil so much and it is also difficult to get zinc additives that do not contain ceramics.

here is an old post on just this discussion...
