difference between 2250 and 2350 - tree98 - 05-06-2018

I was under the impression that the 2350 was just the 12 liter version of the 2250 but someone just informed me that i'm wrong about that. What exactly is the difference?

The ISX 2250 and ISX 2350 are both 15-litre engines. The 2350 has tighter emissions standards, higher compression ratio, a different type of injection process, and some updates that the 2250 did not have.

The SCR system on a 2250 is handled by a separate controller, and on the CM2350 they put both controllers inside the main ECM.

The CM2250m has roughly 18,900+ ram/flash settings and adjustments in it, and the CM2350 has roughly between 6,000 - 7,000 more.

I have the 12 liter version 2350. is it a different block than the 15 liter or do they just use different liners or something for the smaller displacement?

Then it is not an ISX 2350. It is an ISB, ISc, etc. or something else. Completely different engine. Go to quickserv.com and register your serial number to find out everything about it.

The spec sheet says it's an "ISX12" and quickserve says it's a " ISX12 CM2350 X102"

not sure then, have not seen one myself. Maybe others can chime in and speculate further.

I'm not a pro on this but I own a ISX 12 in a 2013 Pete it is a cm2250 all info is on engine tag. The difference that I see is the fuel pump is mounted on rear belhousing and they are different engines from the 15.
