2350 fuel pump - lonestar16 - 06-04-2018
quick question when rebuilding the fuel pump do u have to take the hole pimp off or can it be done with it still on the truck .called a local shop up n had to leave a message waiting on them to maybe call me back ..i got 292k on it now not trying to wait to much longer to get it fix or maybe try in do it my self ...

I believe it has to come off. There were a few posts here regarding just that, with photos. I’m sure there are YouTube videos out there on the pump rebuild.

any clue were i can find out how to rebuild it ..youtub dont show me much i know about the fuel lins but if i take the four bolts off the top will that let me pull what i need off or is there alot more to it..

If you think you can do , dont. Cause if you do incorrect you can mess things up and destroy fuel pump. Yes you can do while pump on the truck. Just need to remove 4 bolts and remove head. Then replace plunger barrel assemblies abd fuel pump tappets.

There is a specific procedure. When I ordered the parts it comes with an explanation and a link to cummins tutorial but my computer would not open. Keep everything clean! Make sure you install the crush washer!!! You must start screwing the barrel in with head in vice and barrel will screw upwards (this keeps the crush washer in place til its seated, there is a torque value and 60 degrees. Make sure the tappet groove slides over tang in pump and that tang is facing correctly. Cummins quick serve gives you a couple tests to perform after installing barrels. Its not difficult but the barrels are extremely tight.

thank eveyone ill start looking up parts number so i can get started in the next couple of wk when i get home again in were see how it all goes .
