Old School meets New Technology!. - Rawze - 04-25-2016 This Antique hydraulic pressure tester proves to be invaluable on a CM2250... Someone was at Mr. Hags shop today with an engine "skip" that no one whatsoever could find. The engine would fail a rail pressure test and the pressure would fall from 28,000 PSI down to about 7000 is about 30 seconds, so there was definitely a leaky component, but there were no alarms, and all other means to find it including all cummins procedures and tests revealing no results, including cranking the engine and looking for bubbles coming back from on each injector (injector leak test). Finally Mr. Hag got a little creative, and rigged up this antique machine to put pressure on each injector,.. and sure enough,.. When the pressure got to 4500 PSI on #6 injector, it revealeed that it would bleed. All the rest of the injectors passed. This saved this guy a whole lot of money in guess work, as CM2250 injectors are more than $1200 each. its typically called a "Diesel Injector Nozzle Tester" or a "Poppet Tester" ... RE: Old School meets New Technology!. - Vin - 04-25-2016 Wow! That's really cool. Anyone that determined to build test equipment must really want to do the job right. RE: Old School meets New Technology!. - Unilevers - 04-25-2016 haha so it did work! i didnt know if it would put enough pressure but obviously it did. RE: Old School meets New Technology!. - RPM1 - 04-25-2016 i just love it when old school diesel know how common sense beats all these if the computer don't give the answer guys . lol RE: Old School meets New Technology!. - Magard - 07-31-2019 (04-25-2016 )Rawze Wrote: This Antique hydraulic pressure tester proves to be invaluable on a CM2250...I need something like this.
