CM2250 and CM2350 "Short Block" for the fuel pump is now availiable. - Rawze - 09-30-2018

The red engine maker now has part numbers for replacing the bottom block, crank, and face gear of the fuel pump on the 2250's and 2350's. This has nothing to do with the plungers or rollers (guts) of the unit,. This may be useful if someone has a fuel pump where the bottom housing/crank/drive gear of it needs replacing. Here are the part numbers...

for the 2350 .. 4307049PX

for the 2250 .. 2872658PX

Are these both for two cylinder, two piston pumps? Or is the cm2250 PN for the old 3 cylinder two piston pump? I only ask because QSOL/part.cummin shows the 3 CYL 2 piston as the pump this 2250 truck came with. It is obsolete, It has already been changed to the 2/2. Spent 6+ hours on the phone with 4 people in parts service going over TSBs and which pump superseeds to where. I believe there is a 2cyl/2 for the 2250 and a 2cyl/2 for 2350 separate. No short block kit for the 3 cylinder piston pump. Is that all correct?

If so I put a head for a CM2350 on a CM2250 body, 100k ago. Probably my screw up. How different are they? Did I cause the pump body to break with vibrations? Upper bolt ear broke off. Any other possible damages?

This post is from 2018 should I have started a new one or is this normal?
