exhaust manifold gasket leak - Sergiu - 11-03-2018 This morning I've spotted an oily soot trail around cylinder#5 exhaust port. 6500 miles after my previous PM and oil is still at the full mark. Should I start worrying about ? [attachment=4349] [attachment=4350] RE: exhaust manifold gasket leak - Mr Hagg - 11-03-2018 did you let truck idle for a period of time? A small leak i wouldnt be that worried about but keep an eye on it. Could be valve guide seals or piston wet stacking. They will do sometimes when idling. RE: exhaust manifold gasket leak - Hammerhead - 11-03-2018 Agree with Mr Hagg, that's a monitor condition, along with time to start saving for "manifold gasket and possible v/g seal replacement fund". You're not in critical condition, but it's something you should prepare for RE: exhaust manifold gasket leak - Mr Hagg - 11-03-2018 Also Id check crankcase filter it may be time to change. And TBH id go with the maintenance free one. RE: exhaust manifold gasket leak - Sergiu - 11-03-2018 Engine has been idleing since last night. Thanks for advice! |
