!!! Your engine brake harness is getting destroyed! - It is rubbing the intake rocker!

This will put shrapnel into your engine and can cause some damage to components, and clogged passageways!. it can also damage the ECM when the wires finally start rubbing through and shorting out!

How much work is involved with this repair? Does the radiator have to be removed? Is the camshaft lobe damage due to a seized Cam Follower Roller?

Awesome pictures yamajason, yes..lots of work here my friend, I think that the head will need to come off on this one, once you remove the cam you will probably see the copper in the cam bushings, most blame a bad castings for the pitting lobe but I would say that heavy soot induction before the @m*m^2 is the culprit, watch out for head bolt stretch when you put her back together.

If your willing to take your time with it, buy all the right components, and spend an extra few days, you can bring it here and we can make a video series on how to do it, but it will likely take 3x longer than normal to get done.

I have been wanting to do video on replacing head ever since I helped Gadget with his.

When the oil temp rose over 150 degrees it was down to 20psi. All normal. Pretty sure I found the problem


I really want to kick the mechanic that did my rebuild and this atrocious repair, kick him in the balls! That is 3/4 inch of bare copper sticking out of the butt connectors there.

I cut out the connectors, cleaned the copper wires, soldered and heat shrank the wires together. Back to normal oil pressures now on the gauge.

Well at least you found the bad cam because of the high oil pressure.

Much better to use this type of sealant for abusive connections than heat shrink.

Radiator and CAC can stay in, no need to remove. How long ago was the in frame or rebuild? And I hope that is not a new cam in there... Yes, I would be pissed too...
