Exhaust Temperature - overshot - 05-24-2016
Ok, my exhaust temp seems to run a little warm.
Last Thursday I had milk money done on my cm 2250. Running loaded that night the exhaust temp ran 600 degrees +/- 40. After that running empty was a steady 500 +/- 40 degrees. Out side temp was 60 degrees.
On both instances I was running 64-65 mph. And very low boost. Today it's 100 degrees here in west texas. And I have been driving faster than usual ( about 69 mph), and I'm was empty and trying to get to the shipper before they closed. The exhaust temp was running from 650 to 750 degrees. Is this normal with the tune.
Plus the engine is noisier than it was before the tune. Is this normal also. The 1st night after the tune when I was loaded and pulling it sounded something was about to come apart on the top end of the engine. Any ideas?

What kind of truck you got? I know the 2250s have a smaller turbo, back pressure because of this creates heat but that does seem warm. My 871 stays in the low 300s to mid 400s unless I'm in a pull. Don't know if I've ever hit over 600... is the truck working good otherwise?

When the engine was stock from the factory, they usually run 650 (500+ at idle) all day long and peak 800 in a hard pull.
BTW: anything below 900 is acceptable,.. 800 -850 being the start of the caution zone. below that, it is no problems.
what is your boost getting up to in a hard pull?

Seems good. Pulls alot better. And I don't have to mash it to the floor

what is your boost getting up to in a hard pull?
Max psi is 34. Once to 35 and 36. But I don't always push that hard.
My max pyro has been 740

Sounds like it is right about where it should be on boost. 2250's do not need as much boost as older model engines.
