low coolant alarm won't stop - in2trux - 06-04-2019

Does anyone have a quick fix for the low coolant alarm that won't stop even though coolant level is normal?
I changed the sensor, chased the wire back as far as the ECM.

Need to find the location of the low air pressure switch to install old school buzzer, if I can find it.
Any help is appreciated!

What type of sensor you have, two wires or three?

The old one was 2 wire, the new one is 3
I was told it was a revised part.

I tried every combination to get in to work, nothing.

Faulty part? Wrong part? Incompetent parts guy is a requirement at most places.

Here is your problem. Two wires and three wires sensors are not interchangeable. Unless you have updated wire harness and ECM software.

I have a 08 t660 and if you have the same plastic tank where the sensor pushes up into the bottom of the tank the tank has a float that slides up and down if it gets stuck in down position you might need to replace the tank cause its built into the tank

its a 3 wire sensor but it only uses 2 wires. It is the proper probe - the floating magnet in the reservoir is stuck down showing low coolant. Pull the sensor out and tape a fridge magnet right to the top of it and it should shut up - or just shut it off with programming.

You can do what Unilevers suggested with pulling the sensor down a little to verify the problem. I wouldn't do it for long period as you will never now right away if you'll loose the coolant as it will always show good. Assuming you have Volvo, Pete or Kw with plastic reservoir
