Low Boost - eggtrucks - 07-15-2019

2014 cm2350, sudden onset of low boost, wont go above 8. Tested actuater and it failed so i replaced with new one, calibrated, installed ran test again and it passed, but didnt fix the problem. Whats other things to check? turbo speed at idle show 15290. Thanks for input!

RE: Low Boost - Mr Hagg - 07-15-2019

Did you check turbo vgt ring when you had actuator off? Did it go full swing? If so then you should be looking for either a bad exhaust leak.(before turbo or piping going to egr) Or you may have a boost leak. Either one you should be able to hear it... If truck has been tuned then it may be in a silent derate and will need to be reflashed....

Being you was able to calibrate turbo does that mean you have insite? If so monitor vgt position see what computer is calling for and what the actual is.

Also could just be bad sensors. Engine off Key on check intake pressure and exhaust back pressure see what reading are. Depending on what part of the world you are in it could be any where but look at baro sensor reading exhaust should be close to that with engine off.

check it out and let us know what you find

Checked VGT ring, its smooth and traveled full range. Have Jpro Software... Vgt position commanded 10, measuring 10.1 at idle.
EDIT: Found problem, piece of dpf broke off and plugged exhaust....
