Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - mkj5252 - 07-23-2019 Was trying to get some info about a 2000 Cummins isx 600hp motor and I live in Atlanta Ga. was wondering anyone know any good mechanics that service on these particular motors and also a good inframe mechanic just in case I need one in the near future. I was told by a mechanic over the phone they were not good motors and if I ever needed a inframe switch to a different isx motor instead of the one I have in the truck now. I’m use to driving with a dd15 and this is my first truck as an owner operator not a lease operator thanks. RE: Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - marek4792 - 07-23-2019 Haggai Automotive (678) 688-8107 is down by Griffin, GA they are your go too for Cummins engines but they get really busy so I would call ahead before heading over there. RE: Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - Waterloo - 07-24-2019 If it is a signature motor word was there were cam issues of some sort, but Cummins sorted that out a few years ago, at least that is what I heard. Other than that, it should be a darn solid motor. I knew a couple of guys with those, never heard any complaints. That’s the CM-570 motor, essentially a CM-870 without the EGR. Mr Hagg will know what to do with it. First thing I would do is watch Rawze’s overhead video and get that taken care of. Should be a good stout motor without all the headaches of these newer motors. RE: Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - Pd6cas2 - 07-24-2019 Start using gear lube (Stalube ) right away. Keep boost under 20 psi . I have the CM570 ,its a solid engine but needs good maintenance to keep it solid. What is the benefits of using Stalube? Lubrication and the additive package. I use it in my 871, when we in framed it, you could smell the StaLube, it left a nice coating on the front gears and of course, the cam lobes. These new oils are being created to run with these new EPA motors, the additive package is not the same as what these motors are used to getting. The StaLube is high in Molly and other additives that promote better lubrication, I like the fact that it leaves a nice thin coating on all of the components it touches. I know it is working when I start the motor. Does it benefit the motor, I am sure it does, the additive package alone should signify that. Now, are there any scientific white papers out there on the stuff, no. But, there are plenty of us running it here and when we tear our motors down find pretty much as new parts. I will continue using the product. Walmart also makes a gear lube that many guys use here too, I believe it is their house brand, in a blue jug. It is less expensive than the actual brand name StaLube, and is comparable in the additive package. The Walmart gear lube is made by a reputable company as is the house brand oil Meijer's uses, if you have those stores near you. RE: Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - Chamberpains - 07-26-2019 In case you're just learning about this, they are also referring to using 1 gallon on Sta-lube gear oil will the other 10 gallons of Rotella T engine oil. Not just running straight Sta-lube. RE: Mandate 2000 Cummins isx 600hp - david24 - 07-26-2019 Is Lucas gear oil any good?
