Detroit diagnostic link. - Tnhwyman - 12-21-2019 I have a 17 cascadia with a dd15 and dt12 trans. I am looking at getting a windows 7 laptop with the Detroit diagnostic link software. I am curious if anyone know what I need to hook the laptop to the truck as in cable type and any other items. just looking to learn more and diagnose more instead of paying dealer money to hook theirs up to it. RE: Detroit diagnostic link. - uncleal13 - 12-23-2019 I have used both the Dearborn DPA adapter kit and the Nexiq. https://www.dgtech.com/dearbornprotocoladapter/ https://www.nexiq.com/Product/Detail/124032 Both kits come with the hook ups. RE: Detroit diagnostic link. - Waterloo - 12-23-2019 If you get a NexIQ reader, just make sure you get a REAL one, not a Chinese knock off. Only purchase from an authorized NexIQ dealer, Amazon is not. Best bet is FleetPride or NAPA, that way you know you are getting the real deal. Many threads here on the subject. RE: Detroit diagnostic link. - tsolson - 12-23-2019 Yeah, i bought the Chinese Nexiq adapter and i won't buy another one. It's been working for me so far, but it's not worth hassle. Alot of them don't work, or quit right away RE: Detroit diagnostic link. - tree98 - 12-23-2019 I have a Chinese Nexiq that works just fine on my 870 but won't work at all on my X15. I had to buy a legit Nexiq for the newer trucks.
