That looks like more than 500k of normal egr soot. You have some stalactites and stalagmites growing in that cave.. It looks like it was getting coolant or oil swirled in there.

My 870 looked like that at 450K

My cm870 looked soot packed but not that bad at 700,000 and it ate its own waste the whole time.

I'm curious what Rawze or Mr. Hagg think of that intake soot. To me those valves look very bad and a little wet (could be the flash of camera) and I'm quite surprised chunks of carbon didn't destroy the engine and turbo. My curiosity isn't to argue but more to have it compared to other engines and intakes that may be worse or better. Where does this one fall in to spectrum.

Any updates? Did you find any stand out problems?
