Got code 1911 finally fixed!!! - jimeneztrans84 - 07-29-2016

So after fighting with this code for a couple of weeks of it coming on and off, the truck would loose power for a split second then come back only here and there. The truck started to shut off and that's when I knew the problem was getting worse. After 2 days of testing fuel pressures, fittings, hoses, injectors, fuel pump my mechanic came to the conclusion it was something with not 1 but both tanks. Truck turned on fine and had no air when he canceled both tanks. Even when he would hook 1 up it would get a lot of air. It ended up being the pick up tubes!!! Both tanks!!! Unilevers called it either air or fuel pump actuator..... Truck turns on now and idles smooth and got power back!!

Next is bypass oil filter next oil change.

What exactly went wrong on the pickup tubes??? Don't even know how they look inside the tanks...were they cracked??? Tnx

Yeah they were cracked and the fittings that hold the tube were bad too.... those tubes are made of aluminum. They cut the top of the tank and welded new fitting and tube...

Glad it wasn't a new tank lol

It was either cut and weld or new tanks... screw that!!
