2014 ISX oil temp - BDiscovery - 02-05-2021 I've got a 2014 Pete 388 car hauler with a cummins ISX 15. My oil temp seems to stay around 220 or up. I'm used to seeing 180-200 with other trucks. Truck has 550k on it, new engine 120k ago. Any feedback would be apreciated. Brian RE: 2014 ISX oil temp - Waterloo - 02-06-2021 New engine? That could be your issue right there... CM-2250 or CM-2350? Was it rebuilt, crate motor from Cummins or one from a junk yard? Any idea in regards to tuning, has someone been in the ECM fiddling around to say boost HP or delete emissions? Need more info. As far as the temp, I can hit 220 when running the mountains, is it running 220 all of the time, or just under certain conditions? RE: 2014 ISX oil temp - Mattman - 02-06-2021 Have a 2015 oil temp runs at 220 pretty much all the time will loaded. Will climb higher when working it hard. Its factory new crate from cummins, CM-2350, no ecm fiddling. 220 almost all the time hits 245 loaded on big hills. Was the old turbo re-used?. or a new one that matches the engine CPL installed? Does the new engine CPL match the old engine cpl? ... what was the old engines ser#? What is the water temp usually? RE: 2014 ISX oil temp - SemiSweet - 02-06-2021 2015 cm2350 runs 220deg loaded all day. Long hard pull will maybe see 235 where the thermostat opens up and usually won’t go higher than that. Runs Same temps as when it wasn’t de mandated, Slightly cooler maybe. RE: 2014 ISX oil temp - BDiscovery - 02-07-2021 (02-06-2021 )SemiSweet Wrote: 2015 cm2350 runs 220deg loaded all day. I don't have insite or my connectors yet to get that info. It was a long block, I bought the truck right after it was done. I'll check the cpl's and post them. Water temp can be at 185 oil still reads 220. I'll change out the oil temp sensor. RE: 2014 ISX oil temp - SemiSweet - 02-08-2021 Grab a infrared temp gun and shoot the oil pan when it’s up to 220 and compare the reading. |
