03’ International 9900 pass side fuel tanking churning fuel and hot - Redland1 - 04-12-2021

The passenger side tank is hot and churning fuel.A bit of vapor comes out as well.Exhaust pipe runs right next to it.Any ideas as to what is causing it?

Is your coolant and oil temp normal? Exactly how hot is the fuel getting? I don't think the exhaust pipe is going to have anything to do with it.

Coolant is at 180,oil I don’t know because the gauge is not working and I need to get a new one or figure out why it’s not working.Hot to the touch but I don’t have an exact temp.Driver side is cool.

I wonder if your tanks are returning and/or intaking fuel evenly. On my 870 both tanks were warm to the touch.

both sides should be roughly same temp... not just one side.

CM870 engine returns any unused fuel from the engine fuel pump back to the tanks, and the fuel stays warm normally.

I’m going to check the tank levels today because I think they might not be leveling and if they are it’s very slowly.

Id start with the breather hose on the cool tank. It may be pulling and returning to just the one.

The cool side breather line is clear.I was able to blow air through it.

Would be nice to know exactly how hot the fuel is getting, maybe it isn't even that hot and your chasing non existent problems.
