CM870 power loss - Redland1 - 05-17-2021 Today my truck started to lose power to the point where I would have the pedal to the floor and it barely moved. What I did notice when this was happening was that I couldn’t hear the turbo spooling. After a while I heard the turbo spool up and the power was back. What could be the cause of this? RE: CM870 power loss - Nilao - 05-17-2021 A bad vgt air box, a bad vgt turbo, a plugged up fuel filter...so many things but if the filter was plugged that bad I'd expect a fuel pressure code....the turbo system on the 870 is not monitored so I'd suspect the turbo to be binding. RE: CM870 power loss - Rawze - 05-17-2021 got a boost gauge on it? RE: CM870 power loss - Redland1 - 05-17-2021 (05-17-2021 )Rawze Wrote: got a boost gauge on it? I don’t,but I did just order one from Amazon. How do I test to see if any of those are the problem? RE: CM870 power loss - Redland1 - 05-17-2021 I will say that it’s had between 3-5 Fault codes and currently 3.I have the inline but was waiting to get the laptop, but I went ahead and told my wife to get one at Bestbuy today and I should be able to see them tomorrow. RE: CM870 power loss - Nilao - 05-17-2021 Put 60 psi regulated into the actuator on the side of the turbo. Check it for full range of travel. Quick serve should have the specs for full travel measurements. RE: CM870 power loss - Redland1 - 05-18-2021 (05-17-2021 )Nilao Wrote: Put 60 psi regulated into the actuator on the side of the turbo. I took the air line off to the actuator and tried to move it by hand but it wouldn’t move so I put air pressure to it and it moved a good amount but I didn’t hear the turbo once the rod moved down. RE: CM870 power loss - Redland1 - 05-18-2021 Also tried to hook up insite to the truck but they sent me a 9 pin instead of a 6 pin.I ordered a six pin from Amazon and should have it tomorrow. |
