Question - Rex012 - 08-15-2016 I have a 450 isx. Its been having a couple problems lately fist it gave a fault of 4282 but no cel. I changed out the dozer and pretty much same thing. The truck also has begun to loose some power and fuel economy. Also theres a bit of blue smoke. I thought the dozer or egr cooler would fix that but didn't. Any thoughts on what it culd be? Thanks RE: Question - Nilao - 08-15-2016 Anytime we see blue smoke from the stack it's due to a cracked dpf allowing Unburned fuel to pass through. I foresee a new dpf canister @ a price of $2000+. Or a mandate fix for a few hundred $ less. RE: Question - Rex012 - 08-15-2016 Hmmmm what about the other symptoms is that all attributed to the dpf cracking? RE: Question - Nilao - 08-15-2016 I believe so. Buddies can cracked, I helped him "fix" it. When I took it out the back side fell apart. It was plugged with a lot of ash and his doc was 40% plunged by soot. He's now up almost 2mpg and he loves the throttle response now. |
