2250 EGR cooler bellows leaking - NDISX15 - 11-06-2021

How important is this issue since the truck is demandated aside from yes there's soot tracking on the block now so obvious exhaust leak under the hood?

My concern is possibly pulling some cool/cold air in to the valves/cylinders possibly.....but would that be possible?

For reference, the leak is at the accordion looking part of the egr cooler towards the front of the block.....I dont have a picture of it on me

* first of all,.. it is not safe to drive a truck with exhaust leaks under the hood.. it makes the driver get carbon monoxide poisoning over time.. it accumulates and causes chronic fatigue.. and an unsafe driver.

* NEXT: is the fact that AN Y LEAK whatsoever on the exhaust manifold is 2 - 2.5X WORSE thaan any kind of boost leak and contributes towards lower then normal fuel mileage.. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY OUT THE STACKS NOT TO FIX IT!.

* NEXT: FIX THE GODDAMN LEAK... ITS CALLED TRUCKING AND MAINTENENCE.!!!!.. DO THE RIGHT THING OR GET THE H#ELL OFF MY FORUM!!!

it could just be the gasket at that joint leaking.

I thought so, I mean im here to learn and be taught not p1ss ppl off and get banned. Thats what I have Facebook for lol.

I will look into that gasket asap. I was hoping there was something like a gasket in there and not something like replacing the the whole cooler assembly.

I just did two of these back to back. The bellows, gaskets and two new clamps are about $300 from Cummins. If your plug is installed correctly in the manifold you shouldn't be leaking much exhaust if any at all. You need to fix it right and inspect the plug.

I see most use a block off after manifold to cooler then theres no leaking...

I'm gonna have to find a plug for that area and pull it apart again. It was just a bad gasket and clamp....but definitely rather have it plugged so that I don't have to deal with it again.
