Where can i get service manual info for this? Is there a detroit site like Quickserve? What special tools will i need, and is there a specific spot to set the cam before unbolting it?

Is there some other problem that may have caused the follower roller to fail, or will I be good to replace the cam and affected rocker and roll?

I'm not experienced on Detroits but I'm pretty sure those rollers are non-metal. If one has failed, I would replace them all along with the cam.

The ceramic roller is way harder than the steel cam lobe. They just wipe the cam off. Nature of the beast along with whooped oil or high soot content oil cause a lot of this. Extended oil changes are a problem.

You will need the cam gear puller/retainer tool and the proper depth/sweep injector gauge to set proper injector height.
