Ecm files - Tony - 11-11-2024

So I was reading some other threads on here and trying trying to understand more about ecm files. For example on quickserve my trucks ECM code is EF10088. So if I wanted to update the software I can download the new Incal from cummins.( EF10088.BDR ) So my questions are do I have to convert it to a .xcal? How do I see what version are available vs what version I have? I don't have any problems with my truck, I'm just trying to learn more. Thanks in advance for the help.

If you have your Incal installed with Insite you can go into the calibrations section and right click on the files and get calibration history and such. Also if you open a free Quickserv account there is a calibration history section there also that will tell you when the updates came out and what the updates addressed.
