Looking at a used truck - Scoot5869 - 11-13-2024 So I am currently in the market to replace my paccar motor truck with a Cummins powered rig. I am currently looking at some 2018-2020 Kenworth t880 that have 500hp Cummins with 10sp and 3.70 rears and have the others specs I would require as well. Miles are anywhere from 230k-450k. What are some things that I should be aware of on these newer engines in that mileage range. As far as I know they have not been deleted. Are the fuel pumps on these motors to be replaced at that mileage still. I would also assume an egr tune up would be needed as well. If I pull the trigger on one I will probably run it stock unless the whole after treatment system needing an overhaul then I would take care of that. Thanks for any advice and help RE: Looking at a used truck - Rawze - 11-13-2024 - DOC/DPF removed and de-ashed, cleaned, flow-tested, etc. - Egr tune-up, fuel pump guts, overhead cam inspection and adjustment, front end + steering linkage, drag link, etc. inspections. Replace oil and filter for the power-steering, Removal/bypass of the Crankcase filter, etc.etc. - Air dryer filter replacament, , Rear end wheel bearings re-torqued, engine mount, tranny clutch inspection, drive-line and rear suspension inspection for shifting, all gear box, tranny, rear end oil changes, etc.etc.etc. The list is long at 400k+ miles or more.
