New member, first cummins isx and O/O with questions - Dennsco - 01-25-2025

Greetings all!
I am really happy to have found Rawze's site! I am an O/O who is new to the cummins ISX15 as I recently bought my first cummins powered truck, a 2012 Peterbilt 386 with a cm2250, currently with 690k. Previously I had a pete with a 3406C and a kenworth with the mx13 paccar i did most of my own wrenching on.
When I purchased this used truck the PO told me it had been deleted and had a recent inframe, and all in all the motor was clean with no blow by and looks great.
But after I got it home I discovered it had a few other issues (not directly engine related) and wasnt quite as good condition as represented. Yeah I don't need to go into the details and no need for lectures, simply put its a used truck, It was a good deal price wise and I was willing to gamble knowing it was going to need additional work, it wasn't immaculate and yes I did expect I would need to be replacing things but suffice it to say after I got it home I have had to replace and repair a lot more than expected, simply some things had been neglected by the guy. It is what it is and now I need to resolve these issues.

So as of now my concern is that even though the PO had said he just had the truck professionally De Mandated I was just told by a guy here who knows these trucks that the SCR has not been opened, no weld marks, I had no idea to look for that. The exhaust after treatment system is still in place. So I am going to remove the DPF,DOC system today to visually inspect for "obstructions" and to verify what I was told. I am also for now going to remove the SCR, not sure if I am going to bypass it temporarily for now and then just cut, remove obstructions and re-weld, just wont have time for that this weekend so probably try to bypass.
I know it also has a custom tune he had installed, but have no idea who did the work and if the tune was done correctly.
I am worried after learning what I have here that the de mandate was done correctly, now finding out that the SCR has not been opened has given me concern it wasn't done the right way, all the way.
I have an Ancel HD scantool i have been using to plug into the truck and check parameters and codes and can see many things sensor related have been turned off.
How would I go about having the tune checked? Is it something I can do myself? I have briefly looked for the Caltran program but seems like it is not free? Am I looking in the wrong spots? TIA!
