N14 operating temperature - Jas2153 - 03-03-2025
I just got this 96 Freightliner with a N14. The coolant temperature pretty much stays in the 150s/160s at all times. I've seen that the normal operating temperature for these engines is 190-210. What could be the issue with mine not running in this range and will it cause any damage?

Thermostat stuck open would be s good start.
