Ecm swap - Perro903 - 03-03-2025 Great evening folks, question. Had isx15 come in with erratic voltages coming out of ecm. Was getting 8.5 v coming out on signal return for turbo speed, .29v 5 volt for intake manifold pressure and temp. So I decided just to change ecm. Me thinking I knew it would work just reflashed another ecm with. Not the same part number, didnt have the same cal but both were cm2350. The good ecm was off an international manual transmission. Bad ecm kw auto transmission. No codes and It worked fine until the driver got loaded. It came back with spn-639 j1939 network #1 primary vehicle network. Something around the lines of transmissikn wrong channel as I'm out sick today and can't exactly remember. Advise on what I did wrong? RE: Ecm swap - Rawze - 03-03-2025 first of all, they need to be the same part#. There are 2 different 2350 ecm's for the ISX and they are not really compatible with each other. next: you should have copied the program out using the c a l t e r m software so that there was a full backup of the ecm before pulling off the old module. RE: Ecm swap - Perro903 - 03-18-2025 Apologies for the late response, been ill. I did download the ecm on calterm and did the image/template on insite. The only 2 codes I'm getting is spn 639 fmi 12 and spn 103 fmi 12. The 639 I'm assuming has to fo with transmission since the old ecm had the ADEPT.tech. The turbo speed i thought was bad because of the turbo speed was bouncing around and engine was off, ran new wire from speed sensor to ecm and reading erratic signals On the dish computer. could the ecm be reprogrammed to adapt to the new motor or does the internals have to be redone in the ecm? ive never opened up an ecm sp dont knowmif they are all the same as far as to the components or the programming is what differentiates them. |
