Wink 2450A
Hello all. 3p3q AKA Thunderhoof here. First timer to post, long time reader though. Kept a CM870 in a T800 going for almost 2 million miles with some of the info from this forum. Still have the truck though it’s just a part timer/back up now. Thank you Rawze and everyone else for the silent help.

Currently as the main money maker I’ve got a 2022 389 with a 2450A, had a lot of trouble in the extreme northern cold this year after fighting issues for the previous year and trying to do things the “proper” way. Needless to say everything’s been turned off, plated, and bored. Does seem as if I got a garbage truck of info dumped into the ECM and was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with that. I do have insite, team viewer and a link to make it happen. Thanks in advance for any help or direction.

How long or how many posts to get my name updated?

Do you have c@lterm installed and config file for 2450 ecm?

First you need to make ecm template (back up parameters) using in site.

If you have time and can then this reading will help too:

Bad deletes are a plague ... Make a backup copy of the file in the ECM and e-mail it to me for a review of what someone did in there.

Thanks for the reply mikkhh. I do have calterm installed, not sure about the configuration file. I may have this sorted out. Had an acquaintance of a pilot friend that came out that is a retired engineer from Cummins. Nice guy at first but then a lot of swearing and made me feel like the time I was 5 and got caught stealing candy from the local A&P grocery store.

Mileage pen to paper is way up. 6.5 last trip…tanker. Lot of wind and some pretty good pulls at 80k. That’s one way loaded, one way empty over 500 miles. Fuel air mix seems a lot better, not burning dirty and being obvious. Previously when it was off, at 16psi boost I was getting 3.5 miles per gallon. Now that meter rating doesn’t happen till 32psi..which is understandable since its full power. This truck with 290k on it now is actually working better now than it was when I bought it as a repo with 110k. Might actually begin to like it finally.

Definitely need to take the time to educate myself a lot more, so I appreciate you pointing out the link.

Rawze when I get a chance to I’d still like to send you a copy of the ECM for a second opinion.

yes you do... have the program copied from the ECM and reviewed to ensure it is correct. It does not matter what you think it drives like, .. that thing could be eating its own guts out, all while the truck owner often swearing it runs great.
