I just bought a 2020 LT625 and went to install a CB radio. WTF is this, and can it be removed or will it cause faults?

I bought the truck from Quebec. I live in Canada, so the dash being metric is good for me, and fortunately the dash is in English, but the owner's manuals are entirely in French. Useless to me!

you should be able to get a replacement manual from a stealers$it in the language that is preferred.

I think I found online what it does. I'm pretty sure an owner's manual isn't going to answer if or how it can be disabled. It sounds like they come with 5 years of free service, and you pay for it after, so since I won't be paying for service it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm going to remove it later and see if it throws any codes. I'll update this post as to what happened.

I've already connected Ins*** 7.62 to the truck, and the program told me that it's too old for the engine that I'm connected to, please contact my distributor for a newer version. Maybe I'll hear about it if this satellite finks on me, I doubt it though.

Interesting. If it is International's OnCommand system, it kicks out a status report every so often that goes up to their cloud. I never got into the details of that system but most dealers or those with dealer-level access can see that info when the VIN is put in. Truck location, codes, active and stored, weather conditions, driver gender and preferences, speed, grandmother's maiden name, stuff like that. Keeps Homeland Security current.




I'm kidding!!. About a little of it anyway. BTW I can get you the shop manual. They now have a LOT of info in them. Wiring diagrams have moved to an "interactive" format. A bunch more info, but are a struggle to use partly because the format is new and partly because I don't need wiring info very often. Format had been the same as far back as I've ever had to go but it changed about 2020 or so.

Barf, check your PM. BTW do you have light on for SPN3936-2 aka Cummins code 2692, Aftertreatment 1 Diesel Particulate Filter System - Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect? Looks like it's been on for a few days? This appears to be for the Particulate Matter Sensor or circuit.
