| MX13 EPA18 and EPA22 Maybe somebody has experience with Paccar MX13. How reliable they are if maintained properly (egr tuneup yearly with every second years cans bake)? Where I live there is no ISX on trucks. Only maxxforce engines, DD13 15 detroit, International S13, Volvo D13 D16. The thing with used truck market is that 600 000 mile 2018 DAF MX13 trucks fetch only 10k, Scania/Volvo 20-30k, Mercedes Actros with DD13 is also 20-30k. MAN trucks 2018 also 10k range. The main failures I have seen on MX13 can be fixed for quite cheap - new engine ecu is 2k, but I can fix, same with turbo actuators. Some MX13 had cam issues, but warranty has fixed most of them. How much head and bottom end issues on MX13? The thing is that DAF dealer in my area is complete crap, that is why used market is cheap. Also no aftermarket scanner is enough to keep them moving. Dealer tells to wait at least TWO weeks until they can clear derate. Will see if get Davie4 is it possible to edit automatic transmission so engine spends most of time at 1500 rpm. Scania trucks have ecm failures too, not uncommon on 3-4 year old trucks. Liners dropping is common too, even at 400 00 miles since almost all are automatic and gearing wise lugged to death at 1000rpm. Used 600 000 mile running engine is like 10k. There are retarder failures on those scanias too and wiring issues. | |||

| RE: MX13 EPA18 and EPA22 Injector issues are the biggest problem I’ve see with them. They get better mileage than the competitions hands down. Davie4 is a must if you are going to be working on many of them. When you buy Davie it comes with RMI which is parts and service. Also comes with PVP which is how you change parameters including transmission mode on tx12. Not as easy to diagnose as Cummins but I don’t mind them. Just my opinions. | |||

| RE: MX13 EPA18 and EPA22 I have heard injector issues too, older ones had injector tips failures. Newer especially EPA22+ have injector electrical faults. How much average highway used only MX13 lasts without an overhaul? 1million miles + ? 1.5 million miles? Oil consumption is common on high mileage MX13? MX13 has top stop liners so liners dropping is rather uncommon and unheard off. What about DPF/SCR control unit failures and ECM failures? Luckily dealer even here has both of these control units stock brand new. | |||
