X15 Liner Improvement
https://www.cummins.com/news/2022/02/04/...ep-cummins

Noticed in this article it says "There have been further power cylinder improvements which minimise lube consumption and uses a new outside diameter biased liner, which reduces wear between liner and block."

Does anybody have any more knowledge on this?? Did they actually make any meaningful change to the liner and ledge to reduce dropped liners??

RE: X15 Liner Improvement
From reading the article it sounds like this pertains to the newest generation of X15 (euro6) that will only be available down under or maybejust the EU (unless I misunderstood it)

Interesting they are eliminating EGR and using more "adblue" to make up for it. Is adblue what we call DEF ? Also going to a wastegated fixed vane turbo.

Rawze, the following is a quote from the article, is this even a thing or is the guy talking out of his ass?

>>>>>>>>>We’ve gone to great lengths with our forecasted fuel use,” says Mike. “So much so, that the algorithms in our software are actually tuned to the specific gravity of fuel in Australia, which is different to that in North America. We are within two percent accuracy on all duty cycles.<<<<<<<<<<

RE: X15 Liner Improvement
you gotta remember that these are the same people who say that the CM2350's have a B50 rating of a million miles.. and all sorts of other claims ... of which we know better.

They also mention improved fuel pumps.. but we know they are still just as problematic as the older style too.

I take all that stuffs with a grain of salt.

RE: X15 Liner Improvement
Time will tell. It always sounds better on paper than it actually is. It looks better on a test field than infront of a load. The truck owners are the ones that put trucks to the real test. Yes Cummins has the best engine that is produced right now but with new shi#t comes new surprises, it’s like that with any make and model.
