{after-garbage} intake/exhaust manifold issues? anyone?
Has anyone heard off issues with installing these two on an isx15? I work with a dude that has a 2020 389 and has had all kind of weird issues.... From melting his filters, sensor issues, to over consumption of def, turbo power issues, you name it.

He had all kinds of tests done, all came back clear. Def system is working good, passed integrity test on cummins insight. After thinking lots about it... Could these parts be tricking the ecu into wrong fueling data and getting everything out of whack leading to def overfueling? Last trips he had white powder coming out of his exhaust.

His truck is very well maintained. In frame done at the dealer. Complete def system replaced. 7th injector was not, but dealer didn't mention it anything about it.

Just trying to look for some leads out here, because nobody knows what's wrong with his truck and other than those two parts truck is stock.

RE: {big-name trash tuning} intake/exhaust manifold issues? anyone?
Why would someone put those things on there engine? Crap like that will do absolutely nothing to benefit you in any way.

They probably are the source of the issues. Throw that crap away and put the proper parts back on.

The next thing that's gonna happen is replacing the VGT with some fixed vane piece of crap from 50 years ago.

There are easier, better, safer, proper ways to achieve more power if that's what your after. Those parts are absolutely meaningless on a computer controlled engine.

This is how people like Gale Banks make there fortune. Selling useless parts based on BS science to ignorant people.

Gonna say the quiet part outloud, your friend is running that tuner box that will melt filters really fast and absolutely destroy everything downstream especially if you lost injector which sounds like you have... Intake manifold is a waste of $$$ and creates an air flow imbalance, although there's another aftermarket that migates this on paper... Exhaust manifold is subjective as it may or may not help slightly cool your EGT 25-50° at best and flow to the turbo slightly better, not that you'll notice it in an on highway application... All in all, most as in 90% of aftermarket is designed to rip you off.. Now thats aside you need to make sure you didn't cook a set of injectors and who knows what else...

There is no solutions for someone who has 'Belt Buckle' and 'Chrome Polish' disease. Let them tear up everything they own and it cost them over and over with expensive rebuilds due to trash-can mods. Maybe some day they will go out of business due to excessive rebuild and repair costs ... and then blame all their issues on their equipment instead of looking in the mirror.

Most people with that kind of abusive cow-boy, big-power big-ding-dong attitude towards trucking cannot be cured of that disease. They would rather Ens$ittify their equipment straight into the ground ... all while thinking they are 'lookin' cool'.. while everyone who knows better looks at them like a complete moron.

There is no place on this forum for such utter idiocracy.
