RE: 2013 ISX 15 rapid sudden coolant consumption Since my ecm file was fixed properly through here(demaned), I wanted to avoid the possibility of the egr failing in the future(since its original). What is the best way to do this without replacing it or having any issues?. They have a kit here that doesnt just block it off but routes a coolant line , does this allow the proper cooling to continue for the rear cylinders? Or does the actual egr provide the cooling?

RE: 2013 ISX 15 rapid sudden coolant consumption Since it is deman just have the cooler gas flow welded shut, so it looks stock. If it eventually leaks coolant it will just fill up the welded up cooler and nothing bad happens. It is absolutely pointless to waste money on those blank off and block off reroute kits. When somebody takes a look under the hood then it is game over too.

RE: 2013 ISX 15 rapid sudden coolant consumption Sorry for the delayed update.. engine was finished, pre lubed, coolant filled with airvac, started, then immediately hooked up to loaded super-b trailers and took for a break in as per manual, lots of power, temps perfect, only difference i noticed was the cast iron oil pump has less pressure but i was expecting that reading the other comments about it. Changed oil just now at 1500miles, cut open oil filter, nothing of concern. Thanks for all the info on this website, very happy how it turned out, followed all the steps definitely am happy i learned a lot

RE: 2013 ISX 15 rapid sudden coolant consumption When is the last time you changed out that power steering filter and replace the oil ... its looking pretty bad there from the outside. and why the h#ell do you have one of those garbage-can 50-micron filters in the davco?... that thing will not even catch sand... replace it with a 10-micron filter that can actually do some good. and its hard to see in the picture there.. but that lower down-=pipe going to the radiator on the passenger side looks rotted out!.. do you know that thing is absolutely paper-thin.. and when she goes.. it puts you on the side of the road with no warning.
